The Rector of the Jagiellonian University announces a call for two positions of POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER in a group of researchers at the Faculty of Geography and Geology in the field of socio-economic geography and spatial management in the scope of: (1) spatial changes in the economic and social sphere and their determinants, creating new growth centers, the resilience of spatial systems to extreme events, the idea of sustainable development and consumption and (2) spatial changes in the economic, social and cultural spheres and the resilience of urban or rural systems to the challenges of the future, sustainable development of cities or rural areas.

The call is open to persons who meet the conditions set out in Article 113, 116 s 2 item 3 of the Act of 20 July 2018 — the Law on Higher Education and Science and, pursuant to Article 165 of the Statute of the Jagiellonian University, meet the following qualification criteria:

1. hold at minimum a doctoral degree,
2. have relevant scientific achievements,
3. take an active part in scientific life.

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:

1. is a scientist with a doctoral degree in one of the academic disciplines cooperating with PRAs (Priority Research Areas) (https://futuresoc.id.uj.edu.pl/en_GB/about-us),
2. has experience in international academic cooperation with leading research centers,
3. has scientific achievements in the form of publications in renowned journals or at renowned conferences related to the subject of the call (in particular, holds the main authorship of publications in journals included in one of the international databases: Scopus, Science Citation Index Expanded, Social Sciences Citation Index, Arts & Humanities Citation Index, is the author of a reviewed scientific monograph from the 2nd / 1st level list of the Polish list of publishers (https://listymnisw.pl/full.php), or publications in reviewed materials from an international conference indexed in the Web of Science Core Collection or Scopus databases),
4. has experience in organizational and design work — in particular in the implementation of projects financed from external sources obtained through a competition (e.g., is / has been a project manager, main contractor, or co-contractor of at least one completed research grant obtained from external sources),
5. undertakes cooperation with other members of the research group,
6. has experience in popularizing science and innovative education,
7. has experience in cooperation within the socio-economic environment,
8. is fluent in spoken and written English.
